Welcome to the website of the Society for the Study of Muslim Ethics, the first academic association dedicated to the study of Muslim ethics. We are an association of scholars and professionals devoted to intellectual inquiry in all aspects of Muslim ethics. The SSME provides a regular forum for robust, interdisciplinary academic discussion centered on Muslim ethics. It also fosters the professional development of young and emerging scholars by providing opportunities to present scholarly papers, to participate in panel discussions, and to publish in peer-reviewed journals. Last, but certainly not least, the Society provides a collegial fellowship for students, teachers, and practitioners that transcends disciplinary, institutional, and geographic boundaries.
